Volunteers VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: OPERATION:
Sack Lunch presently serves
five days each week to the homeless children, women, and men, who
congregate in the Seattle area. We prepare and serve more than 2500
meals a week with a small staff and volunteers. Our host kitchen is the
the beautiful remodled Compass Center on Alaska Way and Washington. Our
service site host is First Presbyterian Church on 7th and Madison. The
plaza where we serve is very inviting and contributes to the dignity
and self-esteem of the folks we seve. OPERATION: Sack Lunch is
the
largest and only health department compliant outside congregate meal
and basic necessities provider in the State of Washington. The people
we serve are
unable to access food in more conventional ways. Our service days are Monday through Friday. We begin preparation at 6:30 AM for our breakfast meal and 9:00 AM for our midday meal. We serve a hot meal five days a week at 1PM and provide sack lunches to area shelters. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to, meal prep, clean-up, and serving. We also have fund raising and Board member opportunities. We are always looking for organizations and schools to do suppy drives for the following items: Boxed 100% suger free Juice-Tree Top, Knudsen, Hansens, Minute Maid Bottled 12 to 16 ounce water Mustard Jam Snack Craker packs OPERATION: Sack Lunch is an
organization that values diversity. We have a wide range of volunteer
opportunities for groups and individuals of all ages. Those who
